Over the last few years, I have begun the transition to switching to “clean” makeup products. I was not about to throw out the $$$$ on all the products I had stocked up on, so I consciously tried to swap clean makeup products once my supply ran out. It makes the process a lot less stressful too!
How do I know if my makeup product is clean? Sephora has a pretty good indicator of clean products and labels them as such on their website. Even with that filtering, it’s hard to understand all ingredients so I cross-reference the product on EWG’s website. EWG is a nonprofit organization, composed of scientists, attorneys, and healthy living experts who are passionate about protecting human health and the environment. When I look up a product, I usually go for ratings in between EWG verified to three. If the product is not listed on their site, you copy and paste the ingredients into the website and it will output a rating. I know it seems like a pain, but it’s helpful and enables me to decide whether to buy a product!
Now, onto the fun stuff, my 3 amazing clean makeup products this year so far!
This powder blush is loaded with pigment – a little goes a long way! I use it as a standalone product or I layer it on top of a cream or liquid blush.
2. Tower 28 Beauty – OneLiner Lip Liner + Eyeliner + Cheek Pencil – Color: Draw Me – chocolate brown
Nice and creamy liner; it smudges out nicely so no harsh lines! I have only tried it on my eyes and I love the natural look to this liner – it is perfect for everyday use.
3. Glow Recipe – Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops Serum
This is a great primer. I use it after my skincare routine and let it soak into my skin for at least 3 minutes before applying makeup. It allows my skin to stay hydrated and keeps the product from seeping into any fine lines on my face!
I enjoy these very much because they last all day – which is tricky for clean makeup products. The reason why companies love using Talc and other chemicals is because they preserve the makeup, especially on your face. I have tried a bunch of different types of clean products and some only last an hour or two on my skin. These 3 amazing clean makeup products have been tried and tested, through all different kinds of weather, and are staples in my routine!
